Welcome to The Mountain Lookout!
A tranquil and luxurious escape nestled in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado. This modern cabin is the ultimate getaway for couples and individuals seeking seclusion, tranquility, and inspiration. The 17-foot-tall glass wall immerses you in breathtaking panoramic views, whether you're lounging in the living room or waking up in the bed.
Surrounded by hundreds of acres of open space, the cabin offers access to hiking trails that lead to the historic mining town of Gold Hill, where remnants of Colorado’s rich past are still visible.
Inside, you'll discover a meticulously crafted Douglas fir kitchen, featuring Sub-Zero and BlueStar appliances. Whether you're preparing a gourmet meal or simply savoring a morning cappuccino, this space elevates every moment. After a day of hiking or exploring, unwind in the hot tub, perfectly positioned to offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and starry skies.
When it's time to relax for the night, settle into the custom-made canopy bed, built from salvaged black walnut wood. Throughout the cabin, heated concrete floors provide warmth and coziness, making even winter stays a delight.
The Mountain Lookout offers an experience that seamlessly blends modern luxury with nature’s beauty—a perfect sanctuary to connect, unwind, and feel inspired.

The Space
The living area is an open-concept design, seamlessly combining the kitchen, living space, and a king-size bed.

Guest Access
Guests have full access to all areas of the home. The garage is not for vehicle parking but there is a concrete pad and gravel area in front of the cabin for parking on. The garage is equipped with laundry facilities, including a washer and dryer, available for guest use.

Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. A lockbox code will be provided the evening before your scheduled check-in.

Road Access and Safety
A four-wheel-drive (4WD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicle is recommended to navigate the steep, narrow, one-mile unpaved mountain road to the property during summer. From October to May, when snow and ice are possible, 4WD or AWD is required.

October-May:
The road is typically plowed no more than once per day during major storms and may become impassable due to packed snow, ice, or snow accumulation between plowings. In such cases, guests must either carry and install chains or park at the bottom of the road and use the provided 4WD Polaris 3-seater UTV (equipped with heavy duty studded chains or studded tires, an enclosed heated cab, and a large bed for luggage) to access the property.

Wifi
The home is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi for your convenience.

Children
The home may not be suitable for young children due to potential hazards, including an unrailed deck, stair railings that can be climbed or squeezed through, hard concrete floors, nearby cliffs, the presence of wildlife such as mountain lions, and long emergency response times due to the remote location. However, if you choose to travel with a young child (under close supervision), we provide a portable crib, high chair, changing pad, and a safety gate for the stairs to help make your stay more comfortable.

Pets
We love animals, but to ensure the comfort of all guests, protect those with allergies, and preserve the delicate natural materials in our home—pets are not permitted on the property. Pets are considered any animals that aren't service animals according to the ADA.

Amenities
The tap water is sourced from a private well and is safe to drink. There is also a reverse osmosis purified water tap at the kitchen sink and in the refrigerator. There is no need to bring bottled water.
